In my 1st grocery shopping in Honolulu, Ralph bought many cans of chicken breasts and salmons. He said they are 'emergency food'. Later, he said they are emergency food in case I don't cook or I cant cook. He had seriously asked me before my coming to Hawaii if I should take a cooking class in Taipei because he knew I almost never cook at home in Taipei and always eat out. He is very doubtful is I am able to pick up a wok. I said: why? there is GOOGLE and YOUTUBE for recipes! they will teach me how to cook. XD
Now, he's surprised that I cook almost every week day. yup, I do. it's just expensive to eat out every day in Hawaii. besides, I have not much to do before having a job. I need to do something to keep myself active! Friday and weekend days are usually my 'off' days and we may go out or it's the time Ralph to 'shine' (as he likes home-cooking).
Lately, i cook Vietnamese pork chops with lemon grass & lemon leaves (must have fish sauce). also shopped some herb spices for home-cook-entry-level-peop
Ralph loves Thai food, so we cook Panang curry chicken a lot recently too (must get a a can of coconut milk) .
Also tried Turkish chicken (with yogurt).
Next we may try cook Indian food.
Thanks for GOOGLE and YOUTUBE, and everyone who is generous to share their cooking passion on webs!
